A fantastic job!
Hope Bagot Village
About fifteen hardy volunteers arrived in Hope Bagot on Thursday morning to 'tidy up' (but not too much) the church burial ground. The wonderful wild flowers had set seed and earlier in the week the grass had been strimmed and had turned into a beautiful aromatic organic hay. There was still lots of work to be done with scythes, loppers and hay rakes and transferring most of the hay into the neighbouring field. Some hay, however, went off to 'germinate' another organic hay meadow.
Finally the call went out at 1pm for a fabulous lunch enjoyed by all and Elizabeth and Sue could relax - the fears of a food shortage unfounded!
We will welcome back Caring for God's Acre in the Autumn when the churchyard will be put to bed for the winter - well done everyone!
